Registration for the 2024-2025 Season is now open!
Club Overview
The ArcelorMittal Dofasco Figure Skating Club provides opportunities for participants to improve their skating skills. The Club offers CanSkate, PreSTAR Skate, and Special Olympics programs on Thursdays and Saturdays. All sessions are taught by a team of SkateCanada certified coaches and are offered in small groups of 8 or less.
Ages:
- 4+
CanSkate Program is Skate Canada’s flagship “learn-to-skate” program for beginners of any age that teaches fundamental movements and basic skating skills focused on Agility, Balance and Control.
- Skaters aged 4 and up.
- Skaters are working on Skate Canada CanSkate stages 1-4 taught in group lessons.
Pre-Star/Star Program
- These skaters are working on Skate Canada CanSkate stages 5-6 and Skate Canada levels Star 1 and 2.
- Lessons are taught through circuits working on basic figure skating techniques.
Special Olympics Program
- This program is designed for the skater with special needs and starts at the ‘learn to skate’ level up to and including world competitive level.
You are invited to discover all that the Club offers you and your family. You will find us a very active club, involved in all aspects of skating. Through the various programs within the Club, we attempt to provide an environment conducive to all skaters’ growth, social and physical development, and skills.

Schedule
The ArcelorMittal Dofasco Figure Skating Club runs from September – March on Thursdays and Saturdays offering the following sessions:
- CanSkate: Saturdays @ 10:30am-11:30am
- CanSkate: Saturdays @ 11:45am-12:45pm
- Pre-Star/Star: Saturdays @ 1:00pm-2:00pm
- CanSkate: Thursdays @ 4:45pm-5:45pm
- CanSkate: Thursdays @ 6:00pm-7:00pm
- Special Olympics: Thursdays @ 7:15pm-8:15pm
The 2024-2025 Season will run from September 26 2024 – March 29 2025.
There will be no session on the following days:
- October 12 2024
- October 31 2024
- December 19 2024
- December 21 2024
- December 26 2024
- December 28 2024
Refund Policy
Refunds to be requested in writing and presented to the Skating Club Executive for approval. Refunds must be requested before the third (3rd) ice session. Medical refunds must be submitted in writing and presented to the Skating Club Executive for approval. The request must include a medical note advising of the date of the skater’s injury/withdrawal and anticipated return to the ice date. Refunds will be considered for missed sessions exceeding 3 missed sessions. A clearance note will be required to the ice following any injury requiring refunded sessions.
