Program Overview
The F.H. Sherman Recreation & Learning Centre is home to Camp Steel-Away where we provide campers the opportunity to be active, meet new friends, and have an unforgettable summer experience here at our Rec Park.
Camp Steel-Away is open to children and grandchildren of AMD employees and retirees, family members, and AMD sponsored associates.
See below for the weeks offered and their associated fee:
Week 1: July 8 – July 12 (Spectacular Sports) – $265
Week 2: July 15 – July 19 (Outdoor Adventure) – $265
Week 3: July 22 – July 26 (Olympics Week) – $265
Week 4: July 29 – August 2 (Animal Kingdom) – $265
Week 5: August 6 – August 9 *4 day week (Whacky Waterworks) – $230
Week 6: August 12 – August 16 (Superheroes Unite) – $265
Week 7: August 19 – August 23 (Around the World) – $265
Week 8: August 26 – August 30 (Carnival) – $265
*Children and grandchildren of AMD employees and/or retirees receive 10% discount.
What time does programming run?
- Runs from 8:30am-4:30pm
- Early drop off @ 7:30am
- Late pick up until 5:30pm
What ages are eligible?
- Ages 4-12 years old
- Children must be at least 4 years old prior to their registered week, and must not be turning 13 by the end of their registered week
What special events are planned for Camp Steel-Away this year?
- All special events will be on-site this summer
What if my child has special needs?
- Please advise us if your child has any special needs when registering. If your child requires one-on-one support, we will review the request and make every effort to accomodate.
- Although your child may not require one-on-one care, it is important that you disclose any special needs information when registering so our counsellors are able to provide the best possible experience for your child.
