Minor Baseball Winter Clinic

League Overview

Are you looking to try out the sport of baseball for the first time? Have you played baseball before and looking to improve your skills? If so, the Dofasco Minor Baseball Winter Clinic is the answer.

This 10-week program run by NCCP certified coaches helps teach the fundamental mechanics essential to the game of baseball in a fun and inviting environment that helps build muscle memory and get young players ready for the baseball season.

The Dofasco Minor Baseball Winter Clinic is open to children/grandchildren of ArcelorMittal Dofasco employees, retirees, family members, and ArcelorMittal Dofasco sponsored associates.

Equipment:

  • Running shoes (non-marking soles) and gloves are required
  • Helmets will be required for 9U+ for the hitting drills later on in the schedule
  • Bats are optional as there will be some supplied for all

Ages:

  • 4-6 years old: A 1-hour per week program for players aged 4-6 introduces the game of T-ball through fun games and high energy drills that also enforce proper throwing, catching and mechanics of hitting off a tee.
  • 7-13 years old: A 2-hour per week program for players aged 7-13 re-enforces the fundamentals of proper on-field positioning, throwing mechanics, catching mechanics and swing mechanics through a combination of tee hitting and use of a pitching machine. Skills are repeated and increased in difficulty week over week to allow players to develop the muscle memory essential for a successful transition to 9U, 11U or 13U on-field baseball in the spring and summer months.

Price:

  • 1 hour session (age 4-6): $100 + HST
  • 2 hour session (age 7-13): $175 + HST

    • ArcelorMittal Dofasco employees and family members receive 10% discount.

    Schedule

    The Dofasco Minor Baseball Winter Clinic’s runs from January – March on Saturday afternoons. 

    Session Times:

    • 3:00pm-4:00pm – T-Ball: Introduction to baseball for children 6 years and under
    • 3:00pm-5:00pm – Ages 7-13

    The 2025 Winter Clinic will run January 4 – March 29 on Saturdays @ 3:00pm-5:00pm in the F.H. Sherman Recreation & Learning Centre gymnasium.

    There will no sessions on the following days:

    • March 1 2025
    • March 15 2025
    • March 22 2025
