Camp Steel-Away

The F.H. Sherman Recreation & Learning Centre is home to Camp Steel-Away where we provide campers the opportunity to be active, meet new friends, and have an unforgettable summer experience here at our Rec Park.

Camp Steel-Away is open to children and grandchildren of ArcelorMittal Dofasco employees and retirees, family members, and ArcelorMittal Dofasco sponsored associates.

What time does programming run?

• Camp programming from 8:30am-4:30pm
• Early drop off @ 7:30am
• Late pick up until 5:30pm

What ages are eligible?

• Ages 4-12 years old
• Children must be at least 4 years old prior to their registered week, and must not be turning 13 by July 1st 2026.

What special events are planned for Camp Steel-Away this year?

• All special events will be on-site this summer.

What options are available if my child has a disability or diverse needs?

• Please advise us if your child requires one-on-one support, we will review the request and make every effort to accommodate.
• Although your child may not require one-on-one care, it is important that you disclose any information when registering so our counsellors are able to provide the best possible experience for your child.

Week 3: July 20 – July 24 (Time Travel Week) – $295

Week 4: July 27 – July 31st (Animal Kingdom) – $295

Week 5: August 4 – August 7- *4-day week (Disney Week) – $260

Week 6: August 10 – August 14 (Superheroes Unite) – $295

Week 7: August 17 – August 21 (Around the World) – $295

Week 8: August 24 – Augsut 28 (Carnival) – $295
