Camp Steel-Away

The F.H. Sherman Recreation & Learning Centre is home to Camp Steel-Away where we provide campers the opportunity to be active, meet new friends, and have an unforgettable summer experience here at our Rec Park.

Camp Steel-Away is open to children and grandchildren of ArcelorMittal Dofasco employees and retirees, family members, and ArcelorMittal Dofasco sponsored associates.

What time does programming run?

• Runs from 8:30am-4:30pm
• Early drop off @ 7:30am
• Late pick up until 5:30pm

What ages are eligible?

• Ages 4-12 years old
• Children must be at least 4 years old prior to their registered week, and must not be turning 13 by the end of their registered week

What special events are planned for Camp Steel-Away this year?

• All special events will be on-site this summer

What if my child has special needs?

• Please advise us if your child has any special needs when registering. If your child requires one-on-one support, we will review the request and make every effort to accomodate.
• Although your child may not require one-on-one care, it is important that you disclose any special needs information when registering so our counsellors are able to provide the best possible experience for your child.

Weeks offered and pricing for 2025 will be available in January.
